DUTIES:

Thompson Rivers University, School of Nursing, requires a creative committed educator to develop a course on Aboriginal Health.  The successful applicant will work with an Advisory group of Aboriginal Elders and experts in Aboriginal history and health to develop this course. The course will be offered to TRU students interested in Aboriginal health issues.  The hours and terms of the contract will be negotiated based on qualifications, availability and program needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BSN and Master’s Degree required
  • Experience in nursing education, course development experience an asset
  • Recent nursing experience with Aboriginal people
  • Practicing membership with, or eligibility for, the CRNBC
  • Exemplary communication skills (written, oral and electronic)

In accordance with section 42(3) of the BC Human Rights Code, preference will be given to persons of Aboriginal descent.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:  March 31, 2011 to June 30, 2011.
