Child and Youth Care Worker

Part-Time -Relief

Overview:
Child welfare, Socio-economic needs or conditions (housing, nutrition, unemployment, financial assistance), Early intervention programming for at-risk youth. Implement life skills workshops, Assess client's relevant skill strengths and development needs, Provide suicide and crisis intervention, Resolve conflict situations, Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, Implement behavior management programs, Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients

Qualifications:
Degree or diploma in human services or certified Child and Youth Care Worker and/or a minimum of 2 years experience in group care services

Valid driver’s license, Child welfare check, driving record check (abstract)

Demonstrated conflict management and crisis intervention skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.):

Child and Youth Care Worker (CCW/CYW) Diploma, Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma, Human Services Diploma, Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Cultural Awareness Training, Medication Administration Certificate, First Aid Certificate

Description:
The Overnight Worker (Awake) role provides support and supervision to youth during the overnight hours and performs program duties during overnight hours. The Overnight Worker (Awake) position is part of the Dragonfly Program team and works in collaboration with Team Leaders, frontline staff and the Program Manager and is accountable to an identified Team Leader. This is a full-time, salaried, permanent position. The Overnight Worker (Awake) is eligible for the Alta Care Resources Extended Benefits Plan (level B) if they maintain 20 hours of work per week.

Salary Range: $15.50/ Per Hour
